"Can you believe an exceptional art show in downtown Indian Orchard? Bev Wolowicz and I showed up for the opening on Saturday, admired the work of a group of artists selected by Scott Prior. Bev is a native of Indian Orchard and knew the place, used to be called Stella's. Here comes another hip downtown neighborhood on the eastern edge of Springfield. The show is about as good as you'll ever see anywhere, including El Prado in Madrid. Realism beyond your wildest notions. "Girl in the Dark" is haunting, by Joseph Miller. A slender girl, about 12 years old, moonlit by a sliver of moon overhead. She holds a small animal. Could be painted by Velazquez. "Daylily" by Susan Richards looks like a scientific study for a botany class, while Patrick Murphy's "Nautilus with Engine" contrasts perfect machine parts with perfect natural form. Jun Cheng Liu's "Fragments of Memory" is a perfect example of trompe-l'oeil style (fool the eye). This is painting that is beyond realism. It is in the style of early Salvador Dali, the Catalan surrealist. The show is open until May 19th on Wed thru Sat. 11-3. 137 Main St., Indian Orchard. Well worth the trip."

Michelle Pescetta"It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to thank you for your inspired work in producing the best art show I have ever been a part of. The Blue Plate Special Show that you put together was so successful that more than a month after the show’s closing date, I am still reaping the benefits of this brilliantly crafted exhibition. I think it is a great credit to your curatorial savvy that you were able to pull together four distinctly different artists with like-minded sensibilities to make a show that was rich in variety but unified in theme. The show created an atmosphere where the pieces by the four artists complemented and reinforced each other without competing. I was honored to exhibit in such distinguished company. The say the beauty is in the details. All of the many details you put into this show worked in concert to make it a terrific example of how an art show can be fun and profitable. ...given the large turnout at the reception, inspired people to come out for what promised to be a very cool party. They were not disappointed. In deep appreciation, I commend you on a superb job that was a cultural enrichment to the community and, of course, a wonderful boost to my own artistic career."
