DAVID BOWERMAN: THE ARTISTIC PROCESS Exhibit
One Artist's Path from Darkness to Luminosity
March 17 - April 7, 2007
Reception with Artist Talk on Saturday, March 24 from 3 - 5 p.m.

Local artist David Bowerman presents a retrospective: “My work is a continuous progression. New faces are related to earlier faces, new flowers to earlier flowers, and new seascapes to earlier seascapes. I continue to learn how to unify these three aspects into one vision. My main media – paint, pastel, clay, and wood – mirror and reinforce each other.

My goal is to create a meaningful impression that stays with the viewer. I try to accomplish this not just by creating something that surprises, but also by trying to make a personal connection. Hopefully, viewers find something beautiful in form and color, and an idea that stimulates their own thoughts even if unable to give them a voice. I try to create a mirror in which viewers see themselves.”
