Suggested donation of $5 • 7:30 p.m.

David H. Miller, 18 years of age and a recent graduate of Longmeadow High School (LHS), is an accomplished musician and double bassist. He has played for three years with the acclaimed Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra (BYSO), and in 2007 was selected as the principal bass in the MENC All-Eastern Festival Orchestra, an ensemble comprised of young musicians from eleven northeastern states. In addition, he has been honored as a fellow at the Kennedy Center/National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute, and has spent the last two summers at the prestigious Bowdoin International Music Festival. David will be accompanied by an all string quintet of the Chamber Orchestra, playing arrangements from the 17th century on.

* Although originally intended to be a part of our monthly "First Fridays" series, this event will take place as stated above - on Friday, August 10 instead of the previously posted Friday, August 3 due to schedule conflicts. We apologize for any inconvenience. First Fridays is a monthly series of cultural exchanges featuring music, film, and poetry. First Fridays is presented by Gallery 137, a project of the Indian Orchard Main Street Partnership, and is free and open to the public.
